On Friday February 8, 2013, the Greater Boston area will be hosting a blizzard of potentially historic proportions. The National Weather Service has predicted anywhere from 18-30 inches of snow with Boston being at the center of the storm. YIF crews and equipment are prepared and have even obtained backup service given the magnitude of the storm. The storm is projected to build intensity around the commute Friday evening and go into Saturday morning until 10am. It is imperative that you and your tenants (if applicable) make the proper preparations prior to the storm. We anticipate slow moving roads and limited visibility which makes completion a bit unpredictable. We WILL have all properties completed on Saturday, however the roads will limit the expediency in which we can travel from property to property. As such, we ask that everyone understand that response times will be predictably slower than a more conventional snow event.
Undoubtedly there will be a snow emergency issued rendering street parking as an option that will not be viable. We ask that all residents, tenants and owners disseminate this email so that my contact information can be provided so coordination to move cars and clear driveways can be accomplished smoothly and safely. We will be ringing bells at properties throughout the day to have residents move vehicles to clear drives. In the event that cars cannot be moved, YIF will be available on Sunday and will return and work with residents to move vehicles and drives once the storm has passed. Ideally we would like to accomplish a full clearing on Saturday, but we understand if someone is not home, the car is stuck or simply does not answer.
We ask that you communicate with my office and provide my contact information to residents/tenants so we can work on getting the properties cleared in the fastest and safest manner. My contact number is617-733-6839. Texts or voice mails will be the best way to communicate and we ensure your property will be addressed this Saturday! Please make sure that addresses and contact information are included in your communication Please do not send emails. Thanks!
